Having just graduated, my b/f thinks he can pronounce on every topic and he's pretty convincing bu what he doesn't know is that he hasn't got any b. common sense. Too many examples to give but is this normal in people with degrees

intelligence is completely different to common sense, people who are smart tend to think they know everything but not when it comes to common sense. Most of my really smart friends have no common sense and come out with the stupidest answers!!

not normal with people with degrees but i tend to find that it quite difficult for people to posses intelligence and common sense at the same time...myabe because wisdom and knowledge are two different things.

most people i know that have degrees didnt make it in the rich list.most of the people that i know are filthy rich and are self made.they also had poor educations.the ones i know with degrees have crap jobs.i hate going to partys with students they are so boring in england.ive not seen one outrageous and drunk student ever whichis a huge dissapointment as im a party animal.

It's not people with degrees, it just that as people get older they think that they are right all the time. Think of the arguments you have with your parents were they get in a strop when you say they are wrong. I've noticed it in myself. You get less flexible in your thinking as you get older

With some people yes! It is because of the effect of the ultimate expert - somebody who knows more and more about less and less until they know all about nothing!!
