oh, but there IS a way to get "drunk" without getting sh!t faced and that line..is the best.
besides...I'm 29, and i have three rug rats, if i want to cut loose once a year with my girls...oh well!

Honestly, for some people it just happens. I never actually plan on getting drunk, but there are occasions when I do. I do enjoy drinking in moderation though, and a little bit of alcohol is beneficial to your body and acts as a cleaner.
The problem arises in drinking when a persons only goal is to get slammed. Most of them do it daily or anytime they get a chance. These people can be self destructive, depressed, or are looking for attention they don't receive by any other means.

It's cool in moderation, but everybody that has never drank before will say they will never do it and that it is bad until they try it. Then they understand what it is all about and laugh at the times they said it was 'bad and will never do it'.
I mean, don't become an alcoholic or anything, but later in life, you will find yourself in situations that would absolutely bore you to tears if you didn't have a drink. I couldn't imagine going to a baseball game sober, I'd fall asleep.

Because I woke up one day and found out I wasn't married to Robert Goulet like I thought.
In fact, I'm drinking right now. Would you like a snort? We're having gimlets today. Monday is bloody marys, Tuesday is gimlet day, Wednesday is bourbon, Thursday is "anything that mixes with gin", Friday is beer, Saturday is wine and Sunday is whatever you want as long as you put an umbrella in it.

Because it is fun and you can have a good time, it is disrespectful to not drink to or from a toast in my family, we are originally Georgian, and with vodka shots around the table, you refuse and you are an outcast. Same way a christain is expected to go to church.

I don't get the fascination with getting drunk either. There don't seem to be very many positive things about getting drunk.

when you get drunk, you lose your inhibitions and it gets kinda cool...but you are still control of your actions
but you must know just how drunk you can get before you tip over to the really drunk state where everything becomes a blurr...and that is dangerous
