You could also try taking a lot of vitamin C, my girlfriend is a nutritionist and she takes a few grammes of vitamin c everytime we go jogging and rarely gets an attack. The problem with inhalers is that they don't normally offer any long term benefit, the more you use them the more you need them. Other than that the usual advice of fresh air and maybe special bedding covers to cut out some of the dust mites etc plus a healthy diet.

Go to your doctor.

Asthma is managed in a step-wise fashion (in the nhs) and it sounds like you're on the wrong step. Either that or you've not mastered the technique of using an inhaler and the drugs are ending up at the back of your throat instead of in your lungs.

If you are suddenly out of breath and your blue inhaler is not relieving your symptoms, you need to seek medication attention prompto.

Do a Google search on the Buteyko method - I don't know if there are any UK specialists available but the Irish specialist I went to worked wonders for me. Before he found out about Buteyko he needed his inhaler four times a day, but now needs no such medication.

I don't have asthma, but did have constant chest infections for years. Using his techniques I cured myself without resorting to inhalers, steroids or antibiotics. It's all based on alteration of your breathing technique, and special exercises.

Flax seed oil, Nettles, and Chammomile all have an antihistamine effect in varying degrees...you can try adding them to your protocol, but if you are on a blood thinner skip the Flax seed...Mullein is a great decongestant as well...I would need to know more about what you are currently on before suggesting anything else. I am at windstarhealing.com if you have any questions.
