My dvd/cd-rom drive wont work anymore, and I just used it the other day and now it wont read any discs, which really ticks me off cuz i just bought a new game the other day without knowing this and they wont take it back cuz its been opened (but thats another story). My dvd drive just makes a humming sound, and the disc does spin, it just wont read... if someone could help me that would be great!

Looks like you're going to have to buy a new drive (make sure you try the new disc on another PC first).

I would try to Uninstall and Reinstall the CD drive from the Device Manager

hav u tried to play any other discs on dat drive. if they play then the disc is faulty but if they dont then ur DVD drive has a problems try cleaning its lens and then check. check da dvd on any other dvd drive. maybe the disc is faulty.

make sure your DVD rom is clean as sometimes it causes the problem.
The other thing can be a RAM or Processor speed
Clean you dvd with windex and also clean the DVD rom and try again
Otherwise install your DVD drive again
It should workout

On a Mac, shift/administration/3 takes a image of the demonstrate screen. in case you press shift/administration/4, you may click and drag over the section you want; the image is taken once you launch the mouse button.

It might be a defective disc.
The internal connections might be loose.
Your computer might be really dusty.

first check that the lens isn't dirty, or maybe your drive is broken.
