It is not clear yet whether time travel into the past is possible or not. But time travel into the future is theoretically possible. As strange as it may sound, the special theory of relativity says exactly this. According to this theory, if you travel fast enough (close to the speed of light), time for you will slow down compared to those people who are at rest. As you go more and more fast, time will also slow down more and more. The result is that you will not only be able to travel vast distances but will also be able to go fast into the future.
In fact even a ship has been proposed by a scientist that could go at relativistic velocities. But the technology and the resources needed to make that ship do not exist yet. The special theory of relativity has shown us that time travel into the future is possible.

Time travel is possible. You are always moving forward in time, and you can increase the speed at which you move forward in time, but you can never move in reverse in time. It's hard to explain why. Think of it this way. Time and gravity are related in some ways. So let's use gravity to describe our motion through time. If you were on a giant slide that was extremely slippery, you would fall at a certain rate, and using your feet and hands, you could slow yourself down or speed yourself up, you could even stop possibly. But you wouldn't be able to turn around and move up the slide without another entity that is not affected by the gravity coming along and picking you up. It would be too slippery.

So if reverse time travel IS possible, we would need a tool or some help that came from the dimension above the 4th dimension-time.

no..... someone asked the same question in the morning also.
actually it all started with HG WELLS writing a book called "TIME TRAVEL" about a 100 yrs. ago.
some yrs. later ALBERT EINSTEIN said that it was possible.
Other scientists kept on denying this till 1996 when they again started saying it was possible.
actually, time and space are related and if you move through one you would move through the other.
but its not possible that you could actually go back and stop Britain from setting up colonies, or prevent WORLD WAR 1, or go and see how grandpa looked when he licked lollypop, or go in the future.
if this could happen then that would mean that matter is not being recycled and everyone from the past, future and present is co - existing.

I am a time-traveler. Right now I'm traveling at sixty seconds per minute. I haven't met anyone from the future yet. Every time I go to the future, I see people that I know from the past...lol

How do you know that you haven't? If time travel is possible in the future, and they visited here, they may be operating under a set of guidelines that prevents them from altering the future or revealing their identities.

No, because you will need some vehicle which can travel faster than the speed of light. And you can't travel even in speed of light because your mass will be infinite and you'll also need infinite amount of energy (E=MC2).

Einstein say that there are no speed faster than the speed of light because speed of light is the only fixed thing in the universe.... everything else is relative to speed of light.

You would also experience something like grandfathers paradox.

Yes, it is possible. I think that the main problem now is how do we control where we travel to? Do I think it has been done, yes, we won't know anything as a public until it was perfected but I know it is possible. We are only the 3rd dimension.

I'm inclined to believe that its not - BUT - just like in the movies, time travelers would not be allowed to interact with people in our time so that the timeline won't get messed up. Cosidering the ramificationsw of the smallest pieces of reality like bacteria and smaller they would have to be hermetically isolated when they came back. We probably wouldn't be aware they are here.

It has never been accomplished. I would say it's not possible today, but only time will time if it will be done in the future.
