No, far from it. His record is tarnished and there will always be an asterisk beside it.
Both Tazio Nuvolari and Juan Manual Fangio rate well above him.

He had a huge deal of success, but this was caused, 70 per cent, by him or the team cheating or by having a teammate blocking everyone else.
Greatest F1 driver of all time... I would have to say it's either Senna, Prost, Lauda or Fangio.
Senna and prost for their great displays in the late 1980's that thrilled the crowds. Lauda for making a brave recovery from a huge accident and serious burns (he is still quite desfigured to this day; he is now one of the persons that comments F1 racing for German TV). Fangio for setting a huge record, in the early days of F1, that stood up for almost 50 years.
