Re-hydrate yourself. Actually an IV is the best thing. Alcohol dehydrates you, so that is the reason for the hangover. An IV would rehydrate you quickly and get rid of your hangover. Unfortunately you just can't order an IV over the counter. But if you know a nurse or a paramedic, or a doctor...hint....hint.....
If you can't go that way, then drink water...if you're not too nauseated. Best of luck to you............

It is caused by a combination of things. This is what you need to do:
1) Hydrate -- drink water or juices. Alcohol dehydrates your system. You need to hydrate throughout the day.
2) Eat -- alcohol causes your blood sugar to rise so that you experience a significant drop the next day. You feel hungry all day because you are trying to re-elevate your blood sugar. Try foods that will effectively do this -- juices, fruits, etc. Avoid greasy foods -- though they sound good, they may upset your stomach.
3) Sleep (if you can) -- Alcohol prevents you from getting R.E.M. sleep and causes you to feel tired the next day. If you have a chance to take a nap, do so.
4) Sweat -- sweating helps flush the alcohol from your system. Depending on the severity of your hangover, choose some form of exercise. It may be painful, but you will feel better afterward.
5) Cold water -- to wake up your senses, try getting into some cold water. I dive into the ocean -- it triggers body instincts and may make you more lively.
Good luck. Hope you had fun!

Take a Vitamin B complex and magnesium before you start drinking, and take them before you go to bed. You should wake up without a hangover. Also, a bloody Mary first thing in the morning will really cure a hang over if you havent prevented it.

A hang-over is mostly caused by de-hydration and a chemical reaction to introducing poison in your body.. That is why you get drunk-you are basically poisoning yourself-either quickly or slowly, depending on how often and how much you drink. That is why people get liver damage, from the liver working overtime trying to counteract the poison.
My best advice is to not drink until your body is fully matured, (about 23-25) so you won't be building your body/brain with alcohol instead of real food. Then, limit your drinking to one or two drinks, so you keep in control of your body and emotions. You will eliminate a LOT of trouble that way and still be able to have fun and socialize. You can even drive home.

like everyone said WATER and lots of it will help. paracetamol rarely has any effect.
to avoid a hangover drink a pint of water for ever two pints of beer on average. this should avoid the hangover the next day.
oh and in the heat we are currently experiancing avoid alcohol at all costs as you will be left refreshed but dehydrated. you should be drinking nothing but tap water where available and plenty of it, about twice your normal intake of water. this will help you to feel a little better. as you perspire you need to replace the liquid lost. and water is the best way to do this.

The best thing for a hangover is to take another drink, this may sound crazy but if you can handle eating a can of sardines it will do the trick, this is no joke, I have tried it before.

I asked this question a few weeks ago and got a ton of retarded answers like you are getting "don't drink" & "drink water." Um...duh!? What works best for me is to drink a full glass of water before bed with 2 Advil. (Tylenol or asprin don't do it for me.) Try to get at least 7 hours of sleep. Let your body run it's cycle while your dead to the world. Then first thing in the morning, drink a glass of Gatorate. The electrolites in Gatorade do wonders! Then, throughout the day, don't deny yourself. If you're craving a big juicy burger from McDonald's...eat it! Your body tends to crave what it needs. Just remember lots of water and Gatorade!

I have just seen some new tablets in Canada called "Chaser". They don't cure hangovers, they prevent them:-
http://www.doublechaser.com/
I think they are available in the UK as well.
To get rid of a hangover have some pain killers, some 'Gravol" (anti-nausea stuff in Canada) and lots of liquids.

Lots of sleep. When you plan on drinking alot, alternate your drinks with water. It will keep you from getting too wasted and keep you from having such a bad hangover.
