they run using micro chips which can decode binary code( you know 100101101010101010100101110101010 that stuff) and other codes from disks and software. when decoded it either goes to the hard drive ( inner memory and brain) or the display) certain coads might say a colour and a place on the screen combined with the hard drive it shows you the program.
