Why do you wait until he makes the first move? If you want to get back together why not just tell him that?

The other thing is; if he is shy and intimidated by you, I suspect
that you were the one that broke up with him. Don't get me wrong, I don't know what happened. But if that is the case, you should be the one who makes the first move.

I don't know if this applies, but just in case it does. I was married
for 17 years. We had our share of arguments. I suspect that 1/2
the time I was in the wrong and 1/2 the time she was. In all that time, she never ( and I mean never) admitted that she was wrong
and never apologized for anything. I didn't leave her but this fact
certainly contributed to my unhappiness in the marriage. In a couple and especially in a marriage, if one person is unhappy
then the other person is too.

O.K. I'm sort of confused.......You broke up with dude and now he's all shy and intimidated by you? Do I have that right? Or he was shy and intimidated by you to begin with and then y'all broke up?

Well whatever the case....dude's shy and intimidated by you correct? Most likely he's not gonna ask you back out especially if YOU broke up with him. You're gonna have to be the one that will have to make the first or I should say second move now.

Ya know here's something to think about.......There is a reason why he's your ex, whether you broke up with him first he broke up with you. Obviously you're not compatible in some way else you wouldn't have broken up in the first place.

Ok, I hear you and I will answer. It depends on how the two take it. If both feel the breakup was stupid, then there is a chance that you can get together back again. If a person is shy and intimated by another person then the chances of that person approaching is rather slim to none.

NO, they will always wait for you to make the move first. I am shy and often think I am not good enough but if I get signs they want me too, I will flirt. People need signals. They don't just approach people without knowing if the other is also interested.

There is a very easy solution to this after you turn 21 or reach the legal drinking age, or not if you're a rebel. Simply go out for a couple drinks, ease into conversation, and by the 3rd or 4th drink, you won't be shy anymore, but making moves.

Maybe not... regardless, I think the more assertive person needs to make a move. whats the worst that can happen? theres so much more to life than to be chicken in making a move. Shy people tend to open the most when they are approached (since not many opportunities exist in socializing for shy people).

If they are intimidated by you, why were you together in the 1st place. Do you really want to be with someone that you intimidate? They will not make the 1st move to get back together. The ball is in your court!

Tell him openly that you think the breakup was stupid, you didn't mean it, and calm down a bit, sit down and wait.. see what happens. He cannot be so shy that if he wants to be with you, he wouldn't make a move by himself!

No, he won't, but you can give him some signals, such as making eye contact, walking next to him. Or maybe, you have to go talk to him, "just say Hi!" Then he will not be intimidated by you.
