How do you install a font set on Mac OSX?

I am trying to install a font set on a Mac OSX computer and I can't seem to be able to get it to work. Can anyone tell me how to do it? Specifically so that I can get the font to show up in the font menu for Microsoft Word.

Fonts are located in Macintosh HD > Library > Fonts, or for specific users, User > Library > Fonts

open the font file and then click the install font button
