Everything in you told you to go right when you could have went left and maybe be more succesfull but not as happy. MY father is cool but sometimes I wonder if he wishes I would have stayed on the path I was on straight out of high school. Do you ever think about that?

Yeah there was a time that my mom use to think like that but she seen that I was okay I might not have finished collage but I did find a great man to spend the rest of my life with and she was happy at what she saw and also I am a parent and I hope my boys do good to even though I have thoughts of my own.
Every parent has dreams for there children to be the best and better than what they did that is nothing wrong with it at all but you must understand one day you will be in the same shoes as your father and you too will be faced with the same question and maybe the same answer.

Yeah, I think about that sometimes too. You see my mom is a snob and with her it's all about what you drive, wear, your looks and how much money you make. I'm more interested in being happy than being with someone that can give me a lot of things and having a lot of things. I know she is disappointed because she was planning on living her life through her children and it didn't work out like that.

Oh yeah, I'm a young 55, and my mom likes nothing about me, know matter how happy I am.. Some parents are just so controlling unless you fit there mold, you could be the president and they wouldn't be happy... Good luck

I always think about that... my parents are very traditional and they are constantly reminding me that my chosen course is abnormal... it brings me down because i know how disappointed thay are... but at the same time i have no doubt in my mind that my parents love me unconditionally, so i do my best to be the best in what i do so they can't complain that i'm just wasting my life...
