NeoNazis, uh NeoCons, have been so brainwashed that to them a bona fide war hero is a coward, and a coke snorting, AWOL pansy is a military icon. You can't reason with intellects like that.

Okay, let the hypocrisy begin. According to the right wing, Kerry probably paid the guy or something, he actually shot himself in the foot, and he was never a war hero. All of his accommodations and medals prove nothing. So their conspiracies are valid.
But when the left wing says that the administration lied about intelligence to go to war, that's just crazy talk. Get ready for it...
The only way you are a hero in the eyes of a die-hard right wing conservative is if you get deferments from your father to stay out of Vietnam and in the National Guard and then become president only to invade a country that did not provoke us. And then they will complain that war heroes such as Murtha and Kerry are cowards and that Gore would have never attacked Al Quada because he would have been afraid of hurting a tree. Oh yeah, and then they'll find a way to blame Clinton and Democrats for everything that is happening now under a republican run regime. Just watch.

In 2004 I had the chance to talk with a couple of the people who were there fighting alongside Kerry. It is utterly clear that the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" attacks on Kerry are simply the product of liars who'd say anything to keep America out of the hands of the kinds of real leaders that we need.
Unfortunately we can be sure that we will get that same kind of behavior from the far right again both this fall for the off-year elections and in 2008, because it apparently works. Many Americans simply aren't bright enough to recognize anti-American propaganda of the sort that Karl Rove has been pushing on us, and let themselves be affected by it in ways that have done terrible hard to the United States.

He also got three Purple Hearts in, what, something like six months, didn't he? I am a Nam vet and most of the folks I know who were wounded were medivaced and took some time, if any, to ever get back in action. What did he do? Scratch his finger?Scrape his penis on a whore? I applaud the man for at least GOING and being there, but I think he was setting himself all along to be something he was not, and thank God is not

I am glad for the man he saved, but your point would be.
We had a homeless man save a child a couple of months ago & I am not voting for him either. Too pompous & marries for money - trading up each time. A first "lady" with a trench mouth & a foreign accent, I think not. She may be able to fiance him but she does not help get him elected.

So what? I know a guy that saved another guy from a burning car, but he's such a flake I wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher. Pleased that he was the hero of the day? Certainly. Does that make him preferred for elected office, not in the slightest. I knew about the story you refer to, but it is the sum of a pile of other stories, including those from Kerry's own pompous lips, that convinced me I wouldn't vote for him for anything.

I am sure Mr Kerry was a great guy. But he will always be remembered as the guy who couldn't defeat George W Bush.
How lame is that?
