And the fault is not just in Republicans. Many Democrats are just as bad. They put through bills they know are never going to pass-flag burning and gay marriage and such, and don't care how many people are out there homeless and without any health care whatsoever. They think you can make ends meet with a lousy $5.15 an hour while they get raise after raise ( I think I read it was 9 raises for Congress since the national minimum wage had changed at all!)
Now last night I read where they are selling our bridges and toll roads!

You’re not alone, but unfortunately too many people are too busy arguing amongst themselves. This was of course planed by those in power - we are supposed to be competitive enough to not care for anyone else, we are supposed to fear blacks, Mexicans, liberals, communists, Muslims etc. etc.

Luckily there is now easy access to information (Internet) and it is possible to avoid our corrupted media(owned by big business).

Part of the problem is that people cannot imagine anything better than what we have, there have been better systems of government around the world, but unsurprisingly the people in power have either brutally crushed them, isolated them, or labelled them Communists, terrorists etc. etc. This has been the policy not for the reasons we have been given but for what our leaders call "the threat of a good example"

The good news is that the ruling elite’s power appears to be weakening, they are being watched like never before, and the truth often comes out - think Iraq.

There is hope, I'd like to draw your attention to Venezuela, where they have elected an honourable man Hugo Chavez, and after many of years of US. Intervention, they have disregarded their orders from Washington, and are rebuilding their country.

Obviously he was immediately labelled a communist, a dictator, a terrorist etc.. but if you do a little research you will find that at last there is a democracy of the people, by the people, and for the people. But more importantly, it is speading in South America, and for once the USA seems powerless to stop it.

The people in power will not give it up easily, your right we may have to fight for a better deal, but greed will be their downfall.

Government hasn't worked for the people since maybe, oh, ever. The whole of the people, by the people and for the people thing is a load of hogwash. Until everyday people and not just the rich can truly run for office it will continue on that way.

Count me in.

Being a republican is floating alone in the middle of the Atlantic without a life preserver with a twenty-pound rock tied to your neck.

Democrat is the same thing, but without the rock.

Go, Green Party!

Try bribing your local cop, he'll toss you to jail.
No try bribing your senator. He'll invite you to dinner and tell you how to "donate" without getting caught and in return he'll vote friendly to your causes.

Moral of the story, the government works for the biggest spenders. Screw the little people.

And the SAD part is that it is OUR fault! By not paying attention to politics and not knowing the voting trends of our ELECTED reps we give them the green light to screw us over.

here is a test to see if YOU are part of the problem:
1: Name your congressmen
2: Name the 2 senators representing your state.
If you don't know, than you are part of the problem

cheers

They are peolpe and it makes sense to put yourselve first, campaign contributers second, voters in districts that matter third, the country as a whole fourth and the planet last.

Very few people have the backbone to reverse that list.
