maybe becos it's a true story and it shows the courage of a woman, who can go against the odd to become a chief physician of the emperor, where it is a sin for any female to hold any high positions in a male dominated society. One can also learn about food preparation and gain health knowledge along the way too.

I see it playing on TV, but after "Emperor of the Sea," and its beautiful costume and people, I couldn't get into it. That shows how superficial I can be as a viewer. But, I guess, the attraction for most people is the storyline about a girl who rises from poor background to being the physician who serves the royal family.
