Depends entirely on your needs.

Trucks are generally more wasteful than cars, so if you don't have a real need to haul dirty or really bulky stuff or tow trailers or drive off-road, you're probably better off with a car. Personally, I wish we had a truck, because we have horses and it's a pain to have to hire someone if we need to move them, and it's a pain to drive on farm roads in our cars. But most people don't have horses.

Personally I think sedans and coupes are a huge waste of time though. If you want four doors, why not have the storage space and visibility of a hatch back wagon? Two-door coupes are just sedans with back seats that are uncomfortable and hard to get into - just get a freakin' two-seat roadster if you actually want something sporty.

Cars get better fuel economy. But I find trucks are more useful.
