Because you're not used to living in a place where it is incessantly hot, like a tropical climate, like where I live in Florida, which, in the summer time, feels like the surface of the sun! When the suns rays hit the beads of sweat on your shoulders, they instantly begin to boil and it feels like someone is stubbing out a thousand cigarette butts all over your body! After the top two layers of your skin is fried off, then you pretty much acclimate to the heat and the weather conditions and make friends with being on fire. It's a magical thing that requires a lot of practice, meditation and training.

Where are all these Brits that spend all there time drinking tea, have bad teeth , complain about the weather, have sex fully clothed or any of the other stupid outdated stereotypes that we are forever being asked to comment on. I have lived all over the UK and the world , I don't know many people who drink tea, I cant think of any one who has bad teeth, I never complain about bad weather. As Billy Connolly said "There is no such thing as bad weather , Only bad clothing" .
When will people realise that this country has moved on.

Moan when it's hot
Moan when it's cold
That's the way of British life. Imagine what it would be like without the customary moaning about the weather! There would be no conversation topics!

Hi Craig - it's because blood vessels swell, capillaries expand and, with the pressure, it creates discomfort so we (all) moan. Your friends across the pond (especially those of us in the Valley - no, I'm not a Valley Girl) do exactly the same.
Cheers!

because we've got used to the cold. Your skin browns easier if you have less sun every year and the same principle applies to the heat. The more you get of it the easier it is to cope. But soon we might have to if the weather forecasters are right and it gets so hot on a regular basis that we get mosquitoes!

It is because we live in a maritime climate and have a most interesting variety of weather about which we talk constantly. If someone said "Isn't it lovely and hot" and everyone agreed then we wouldn't be able to continue with our chats about the weather.

We love the heat but when it gets hot its humid ..to the extremes.. is it ever just the right heat, tell me? Like today and yesterday, weren't you uncomfortable? a lot of people were and I was very miserable. All I wanted was a nice coooooool breeze.

Because it makes us sweat, makes us tired, irritable, dont get enough sleep cos your partner is wet with sweat next to you and trying to get jiggy, it drains you of energy, gives us headaches, anything else I can moan about...............nope, think thats it.
Oh....It also means men spend even more time scratching and pulling at their nuts cos they are sweaty and itchy.
Roll on autumn (fall for you guys across the pond).
