nobody should have that right, depressed people could take up base jumping like Jeb Corliss, he found life and found he wanted to live in his aim to die.
Many people take up dangerous hobbies as a get out clause to the suicide thing, some make it through and really want to live.

Depression, NO, but lets say that the disease is cancer, aids...especially if the person is poor and doesnt want to cause more problems, in these instantaces > Yes, after all they sure are giving smoking a bad wrap and it kills more people than sugar. They have made it illegal to smoke in certain areas so why shouldnt make it illegal to kill yourself in certain areas. People get depressed, its a fact of life...u know what i think? I think people who kill themselves over depression do it because they walked around too long wearing a smile that shouldnt have been there in the first place.
In the bible, when someone mourns they shave their head...do U think Jesus had long hair that scored all the chicks? The shortest verse in the bible is " Jesus wept " but lets not get into the loss of God or trashing the money changers and synagogues. It seems that they put away a person who cant stop crying. Either in the mental or in the " pole in the serpent" for depression...SO THE PEOPLE MAY LIVE. Doctors want you to believe that if your crying there is something wrong with you and the medicinal and pharmaceutical companies come up with new terms all the time relating to the same disease, different depths of course. Trust me, if an over educated monkey can draw an imaginary line...10 out of 10 times, it's going to draw three and divide it up into what he feels are the classifications

The right to kill is usually reserved for wild animals. Lethal injection sounds like a timid choice for a suicide. Like something a person might choose if they were scared of dying. Your right to a lethal injection is usually determined by what kind of low-life piece of trash you are and what terrible things you have done in your life. Have you really earned the right to a lethal injection?

I think, if you're Christian and some other religions, it's wrong to commit suicide. However, if you do not belong to one of those religions, then it is a sad personal decision one must make. I think that there's always a better alternative and that suicide is a terrible way to deal with a problem. I don't think people should be allowed to have lethal injection just for depression - terminal illnesses, maybe. Still haven't quite figured out where I stand morally with all that.

No. If one is depressed he/she should seek professional help and try to get over it. I tried to kill myself once and now consider it the stupidest thing I ever attempted. It is a waste, really, to do so.
Now if the question is euthanasia for reasons other than depression, I might have a different stance.

Ooh, good question. I think that since our society delights in sponsoring the killing of most forms of life on this planet (the wholesale slaughter of wildlife and animals) including many human beings who don't have any wish to die that this is actually a very sensible option.
I think it would bring the idea of suicide much more into public focus and that people would think much more about their lives and actions and beliefs as a result. Yeah, bring it on...

If someone is "clinically depressed" they are suffering from mental illness and therefore should not have the "right" to kill themself. However, if a person is suffering from a terminal disease, I feel that the person should have the right to die peacefully and the way they want to.

I think it should be a person's right to decide what happens to their own body. After all, it seems like it should be the ONE THING that we have total control and say-so over. But we live in a repressed country, concerning person rights and freedoms, if you REALLY look into it!

Depression can be overcome. If someone was definitely terminally ill and in a lot of pain then I guess.. but again I would have second thoughts because God giveth and God taketh. Suicide is a sin.

Are you talking legal right or moral right or religious right? In the US, committing suicide is illegal. If you try and fail, you can be imprisoned. (Does that make sense?) Morally, there are some philosophies that allow suicide in certain cases. Most religions don't allow suicide except for cases of martyrdom. Frankly, though, in most philosophies, suicide is considered cowardly at best.
