Hey, I hope I wouldn't provoke any indignation. I happened to just think about it.

The bible said something like this: "If we were to do wrong and didn't repent, we will be cast into hell and be burnt by the fires of hell in eternity and we will suffer."

However, if the souls were to be cast into hell and be burnt in eternity, would there come a time where they will get used to it? After all, all live forms are adaptable. Perhaps so are souls. So, initially, these souls will feel terrified and in pain, but over a long time, wouldn't they get used to it and it becomes mudane? Wouldn't they even learn to manage it?

So, if that is the case, what is the big deal about being burn in hell?

First, let’s examine our concept of God. What and who is he. God is the everlasting, the great I AM, the alpha and the Omega. He was, is and will be. We are His creations, the children of God.
God loves us.

Now on to the concept of being human. We make mistakes. We can be ignorant. We can be stupid. We can be selfish, rude, mean, and cruel and in general, real jerks. In the concept of a grand universe (and multiverse) our life span is less than a blink of an eye to the cosmos. The events of our lives and the events on our planet, though important to us and even important to God, matter not at all to the universe as a whole. There are stars you look upon in the sky that shine a light that is older the entire history of the human race. We are loved but we are short-lived and small compared to the space we float in.

Now that I have set the stage, here is my point. Why would a loving, giving God toss his creation into the burning hells of ever-lasting pain and suffering for an eternity? The answer is that He would not. If you have children that do something wrong, do you lock them in their rooms for all eternity, to never know love and happiness again? Eternity is a concept we can not honestly understand. It’s a not a billion years. Its not 99999999 billion years, it’s that and on throughout the ages. Again, more than we can honestly wrap our minds around. So, if I sin and live my life in a self-serving, pointless life of greed and disregard for those around me (as many in this world do) I deserve to exist in an un-ending cycle of pain and suffering for ETERNTY, apart from God, because I was stupid and lazy and so on? Humans make mistakes, humans ignore good advice. Humans are in the habit of keeping up their habits, no matter how bad and stupid they are. I am NOT saying there isn't some price to pay, I honestly don't know. I AM saying that an ETERNTY of suffering is a high price to pay because I didn't give 10% of my money to the poor or the church.
What about the people who's culture and history does not include the Christian concept of God? Even those that have been exposed to the Word of God but choose to stick with the belief system of their culture and history. Does that make them wrong? I don't believe it works that way. Again, Eternity is a long time.
Here are my final words: live the best you can, love the best you can and be the best you can. Make mistakes. Be ignorant. Be stupid. God will take care of the rest.

You question is perfectly logical.

But the problem exists, I think, when we talk about the immortal soul. It's not a physical aspect of the self, but a metaphysical aspect. Ergo, the same laws of our three dimensional universe no longer apply.

I do believe hell exists, and I do think it is a horrible place. But where I might differ with some interpretations is that I do not think that it's only a place of fire. I think that hell is an assault on all the senses. I have had horrible dreams before, like of being in a dark, cold basement with little light- and a loved one keeps calling for help- crying out for me. Yet, I search everywhere, and I can never find him (or her). To me, that is probably what hell is really like. It is like a nightmare- only real.

There are other bad things about hell that we probably just can't conceive. It probably smells horrible, like a burning motor and vomit. It's most likely a very dark place. The inhabitants there will likely be hostile, and they will enjoy causing souls pain- biting, scratching, and clawing at the skin of the soul.

Besides, think about this- do you really want to be in a place with all the evil people from history? Hitler will be there- Jeffrey Dahmer, Joseph Stalin, and people like Jack the Ripper will be there. If not for the fire and the other terrible things, would you really want to be in a dark place with cannibals and other wicked men?

I'd rather go to heaven, but that's just me.

I think that hell will be awful for those that are going to be there, but I think that the nature of this question is more interesting... because at the heart of the matter wondering what hell is like is really saying that it is impossible to please God and I might very well be heading to eternal damnation, so would you guys mind at least consoling me on the way there. And the thing that I think is odd about that, is that you don't really have to do a whole lot to get into Heaven. Afterall, if we are speaking of the Christian concept of Heaven and Hell, then the only thing that must be done is to realize that there is no way to earn your way into Heaven and except the sacrifice of Jesus for all of your sins. Now tell me, if that's it, and really we all feel that anyway.... who cares what Hell is like? If I have a choice between the two, I'll pick Heaven.

Is being burnt in hell quite a huge issue? No the large issue is a mag bought on the streets of Scotland, and it does no longer element out some thing about being burnt in Hell. quite in spite of the indisputable fact that, the only Hell is now, right here in the international, and the only burning you may journey is in case your position became on fireplace. the concept of Hell is a few thing that non secular leaders concept as a lot as make human beings repent their procedures and position self belief in God, it isn't some thing better than a fairytale as a frame of mind to brainwashing the lots.

You are maybe thinking about this in a human way....like you get used to pain after a while here. This is talking about spiritually, so the pain may not end, otherwords we may not get used to the pain. It does talk about gnashing of teeth, which to me refers to severe pain. People think that they're going to party in hell......that I don't believe either. That is totally against what the Bible says. Even if they don't believe the Bible, many people associate hell with the devil and torture. I really feel that hell will not be a big party, and that it will be a place of punishment for all eternity. So I'm not going to take a chance.....what about you?

Whooee. Sorry to break it to you buddy, but hell is being alone - completely utterly alone - with the wrath of God. The wrath of an all powerful being, who created the world, and you spend eternity alone with it. ETERNITY. It never grows dull, or gets better. Each moment is just as awful as when you came. The bible also says there will be worms in hell, along with the lake of fire you live in with the wrath of God. The souls there will be weeping, wailing, and knashing their teeth. This is the most painful experience, physically and emotionally, you can have for eternity. Try finding a church and pastor to talk to if you'd like to know more about the alternative, heaven.

If a soul was ethereal or astral and had no physical form, in a fire it would not depreciate and burn away to nothing. Have you ever burnt or scalded yourself? Imagine that happening to every part of your body for an eternity with no chance of escape.
Never ending pain seems a big deal to me.

You find a wasp's nest, whack it with a stick and let them sting you multiple times Do this everyday and see if you get use to it? On a hot day work your rearend off in the sun, take a glass and imagine water in it and drink all you want to see if your thirst is quenched.Remember,DO NOT GO IN THE HOUSE AFTER ALL DAY AND DRINK SOME REAL WATER just keep drinking the imaginary stuff.See if you get use to it cause the Bible also states that you thirst and hunger will never be satisfied even though there is plenty

There's nothing in the Bible that says that souls burn eternally--anything thrown in a fire eventually burns up. If the passage was meant to imply that souls burn without being consumed, wouldn't it say, "Hey, remember that burning bush that talked to Moses? It's like that--it burns and burns without being consumed. Yeee-ouch!"

The garbage pit outside of Jerusalem that the passage referred to (the "lake of fire") has long since burnt out. The idea of an eternal fire is a Renaissance flight of fancy.

First of all, Hell was not made for man but for the devil and his fellow falling angels. There are somethings you soul will never get used to even now in earth people still feel it (lack of peace, no strenght for each day, lack of confidence and so on.) people never get used to this things they keep scearching and puting their hopes or trying to satisfy their soul with a lot of things (smoking, drinking, yoga, sexual addiction, drugs, even over eating, a form of praticise or ritual and so on.)

But they dont get satisfy. your soul is from God and only him will satisfy. Culture or weather are adapted to not ur soul desire. we all want the same thing to live eternal.Heaven is for man we have sinned. And only an innocent blood can wash our sins away not cover our sins but wash away. Jesus Christ did that for all. Believe and receive eternal live and saved others from the destrustion yet to come, until the whole world knows Of the saving grace of Jesus Christ the messiah, jugdement wont come on man. today u know save urself and tell others of God loves and that the devil is condemned glory be to God and man can live and can escape the warth to come. God loves u.
