If blacks started learning everything there is to know about slavery they would be really pissed at each other for selling each other to the white man.
They wouldn't stop calling each other ******.
If they stopped eating soul food it would really hurt the economy and put a lot of people out of business.
They would not be unified as they still sell each other in Africa (and they certainly know about it over there, as they started it).
Knowing about slavery doesn't affect them being weakened by religion or make them more competetive.
Blacks being more politically active and voting is the only way they will lose power to the white man.
Check yourself fool.

Do you realize how ignorant you sounded when you tried to pin the blame on whites? Why would whites have a problem with blacks knowing that the US Government NEVER sent/funded a slave raid in Africa? Why would whites want to hide the fact that the majority of black slaves were either sold by African kings or gotten by slave raids by Spanish, Portuguese, and Arab-Muslims? Why would whites want to hide the fact that slavery was then and still is rampant in Africa?
At least 618,000 Americans died in the Civil War, and some experts say the toll reached 700,000 and the majority of those deaths were white men. Approximately 360,222 were Union loses. Clearly not all whites agreed with slavery even when it was legal.
While I do agree with you that everyone should learn history so it doesn't repeat itself, it should also be learned to end the idiotic black-vs-white and white-vs-black mentality. We are all humans. We are equal in the eyes of our laws and most importantly equal in the eyes of God.

1) The black folks I know only call each other "*****" in either a derogatory manner.
2) They respect each other as well as people of other races.
3) Soul food is healthy...I've been eating it for years!
4) Unified? It is better to be unified as Americans...not as one race.
5) Religion weakens...faith strengthens
6) Competitive in the working world...blacks already are.
7) Whites do not want blacks to forget about slavery....except that it's over...we cannot go back, we can only go forward.
Your attitude needs to be more positive...the world is in enough turmoil, without having others add to it.

Contrary to popular belief, slavery did not begin with the black people. It actually began with the Indians. The white men were very cruel and inhumane to the Indians after the Indians were the ones to help the white men survive when they first came over here to America.
Slavery no matter how you look at it is extremely sad and depressing time. It still goes on today.
In the mix of slavery you also have prejudice too. Prejudices can be found everywhere. It is found in white people and black people; black people and Chinese people; Chinese people and Indian people; Mexican people with white people and so on and so forth.... Prejudices are found in religions, looks, intelligence, races, and so many other places too.
No man or woman on this earth has the right to think they are better than anyone else. We were all created equal in the sight of God. No matter what race we are, religion, wealth, creed, looks etc. God loves us all!! I just wish humans loved one another like God does.
I think it would be a fine idea for all races to explore slavery. Perhaps if the different races learned more about it and it's outcomes on people lives it will change their minds on how to think and treat each other in the present and future.
All people should be recognized for their strengths not weaknesses. For their abilities not for their inabilities. For their intelligence not for their ignorances. We each can contribute something positive in our lives to each other. Unfortunately not many are willing to do this. Whether out of fear or doubt or shame or indifference, people just don't want to make their lives or other peoples lives better. To me this is sad. For if this world would only pull together and help one another, this world wouldn't be so filled with hate and filled more with love and acceptance.

Blacks....whites.....how about just people? How about realising that all sorts of people have suffered at the hands of all sorts of people for ages?
Why not stop consuming yourself with this negativity and realise that "whites" cannot change the past and should not have to pay for the past mistakes forever.
Injustice is injustice no matter who or what is involved.
Good people, bad people, people who forgive, people who have a chip on there shoulder, sad people, happy people..........
At the end of the day theres just people!
