How are the 80's viewed by the younger generation?

What do you know about it? How do you think it differs from today?

I have a son who is 13 and has stated that he is glad he wasn't born in the 80's cause everyone was ugly back then.

I was born in 1985, 21 in Sept. So I really never consiously was in the 80's but personally I love them, most of my favorties music and movies are from the 80's.
