Hey - I'm not defending Hillary - good grief people. I had asked a question about Laura Bush from a legal standpoint and just got to wondering if it had been Hillary instead of Laura how the media would handle it.

it depends on who you ask, as you can see by most "republican responses above" that they would have Hillary burned for it, but of course it being Laura the republicans let it slide
Leogirl0804 if you asked her if Hillary did this she would come up with about 50 reasons why Hillary was responsible and why they should have thrown the book at her, very sad MOST republicans are blind by their government when it comes to the wrong things republicans do vs. democrats. Of course if a democrat did something bad republicans would want to hang them the old fashion way, yet if a republican leader could do no wrong AM I RIGHT ON THIS LEOGIRL

In case you hadn't noticed, Laura Bush is not running for office. So this tragedy when she was a teenager has no bearing on anything political.
As for Hillary, you do know that she's corrupt? The cattle futures scam. The Whitewater/Castle Rock scam. The firing and false accusations against the WH travel office people. The attempt to hijack the health industry. Or do you also rationalize and excuse her evident corruption?
She's running for office. She's an open target. She'll never return to the WH except as a guest.

The Clintons did MANY worse things than that.
On Clinton's watch, the following things happened:
The destruction of the al-Shifa pharmaceutical plant in Khartoum, Sudan on August 20, 1998. It was destroyed by cruise missiles in retaliation to the August 7, 1998 embassy bombings attributed to Osama Bin Laden. The destruction of the plant led to the deaths of tens of thousands of people who could not get the medicine they needed. The plant had no ties to Bin Laden and was not creating weapons of any kind.
Murderous sanctions against Iraq which killed hundreds of thousands of people, including many children.
The serious NATO bombings in Kosovo which increased the death toll of the conflict dramatically as expected.
Massive U.S. arms support for genocide in southeastern Turkey carried out against the Kurds throughout the 1990s. Tens of thousands were killed, several million refugees fled.
And that's just the beginning. Yet we blame the current man in office, for events that pointed started in motion BEFORE his term began.

to respond to your question, No. Do you bear in mind many years in the past even as that guy named Dean ran for president. He became the front runner of the Democratic celebration for virtually a 365 days. He lost the first regularly happening and everyone concept that it became a fluke. Then he lost the 2d and nil.33, and so on. The media had him picked because the subsequent president because of his polls, yet they did not pan out contained in the balloting sales area. the point is, don't worry about the polls from the media, worry about the balloting consequences.

What if? gets to be such a boring game. If these people did half of what they are accused of, they would all have been put in front of a firing squad by now. Then again, if every one of us did half of what we were accused of, there'd be noone to fire the guns. So who really cares anymore?
