I've seen several intelligent questions as well as several insightful answers. In fact, what got me started on Yahoo answers was a desire to respond to the question that Stephen Hawking posted.
I have since found that a very large percentage of folks here are kids just trying to figure stuff out, which also can be kind of fun. It's kind of nice to be able to share wisdom in a forum where the whole generation gap thing is at least partially obscured. It does, however, put in stark relief the failure of our education system to teach our youth the basics of written communication.

Yes, there is intelligent life on Yahoo. When you pose a question to the public, I think you have to expect that the answers will really run the gamut just like the general population does. Yahoo doesn't attract one specific type of individual. It attracts all kinds from the intellectually challenged to very bright people. It attracts smart alacks and the sincere. Some people just answer questions to amuse themselves with no thought to being sensitive. And there are no rules against that. As a consequence, I harbor no expectations when I ask a question.

I think you should need a license to access the internet. Its a global entwork with communicaiton everywhere, we can't afford to let 5 year olds running scripted DDOS on the FBI's mainframe, letting the world in hte know about clinton's latest affair or spamming yahoo answers with pointless questions continue. I know, rather than puttting multibillion pound hi tech gadgets into place to stop this sort of thing, (just for the kids to put the wrong date of birth in to beat the system) why don't we just get some good parents?
Oh sorry, its a minority.
I aggree with you in full, I preferred the internet 5 years ago. I apologise for my spelling

I agree. It's good to know that there are some other intelligent people out there as well. I know of one other as well. So...At the very least, there are three of us. Maybe if we can find enough others we can start a revolution, where only intelligent questions are asked, intelligent answers are given, and people understand how to classify their questions and use grammar (at least mostly) correctly!

I have found this to be the same. It would be nice to be able to find intelligent areas to post and reply, though I doubt Yahoo will ever manifest itself to be anything more than it is.
However; there have been times I have seen some very intelligent replies.
:-)

You say you ask intelligent questions, do you really?
This site is for fun, not overly sensitive people that cannot handle answers. I am thinking if you get stupid responses your questions are pretty stupid as well! Nobody is wasting anything but you !

I do agree, It's a shame. There are Lot's of teens and pre-teens on here and that says it all. Maybe try typing for adults only or 18 and older. Serious answers only seems to draw them to you, Good luck

Confront Yahoo to abolish immediately for those who do not take things seriously. But fear not, I'm also one of those beginner-intelligent life you're seeking.

You have to take some and leave some. There are some great answers out there, and likewise some great questions. There are also lots of bad ones, but whatever, don't let it get you down.
