My gf became pregnant by me and has now decided to cut me out completely, she wont talk to me, tell me anything about my baby or have anything to do with me. Im not 100% sure why but Im still paying her every month. (will never let my baby go without!)

I did upset her a little (in march!) but nothing to deserve this.

Im sure its my baby, do I have any legal rights before I become a father?

Im even worried I wont know when I become a father.

Sadly before the baby is born you don't have any rights, but you also should know that you do not have to pay her anything, as the baby is not born, she is not in need of the money for the baby just yet. After the baby is born you have many rights. Depending on where you live you can get joint custody (usually means 2 weekends a month and some holidays for you), and if she is unfit even full custody. Child support is based on a formula and is different for each place. You can go to the court house and find out how much you are required to pay. If you want you can give more, but don't give less. Usually it is better not to give more money, but if you want the child to have to buy clothing with the extra money you want to give. It looks good to the court if you started giving before the required order. Just so you know if she tries to give the baby up, or wants to keep you out of the child's life she will have to show just cause and take you to court. This can cost, but if you let her file first it will cost you less and make her look bad. You should have a lawyers name ready in case it comes to that.

You have EQUAL RIGHTS! But you must sign a paper stating you know it is yours or do a paternity test. You should not be paying her for anything until the baby is born. They will most likely go after you for the entire cost of the birth. Do you even know if it is yours? This could be why she doesn't want you around. If you do give her money do it with checks so you have a paper trail to prove payment. Don't let anger take over, deal with her in a honest, normal tone and if she gets uptight and angry let her. Record all conversations (most States allow this without prior consent) to prove her refusal for you to be involved. She does not have to allow you at the birth but should tell you.

Get an agreement through the courts so if she refuses to let you see your child see will be in contempt of court! As long as you need a decree in the courts add a clause in it that States she cannot remove the child from the Jurisdiction of the court. That way she can't up and leave without your consent.

You have to have the child legitimized before you receive any rights, maybe try to look up ways to legitimize a child I think there is a way to do a paternity test while the woman is still pregnant. you need a lawyer and he can advise you how to make all of this happen, and keep records of how much money you have paid her, and you have just as many rights as the mother, and if everything works out and you receive rights before the birth she can't deny you from coming to the hospital and has to inform you. Hope I helped.

you have all the rights as a new father. my advice to you would be to let her know you are there for her, offer to go to her appointments with her and try to be there for her as much as possible. you can request a dna test after the baby is born. but you say you are the father. you need to sit down with her in a neutral place and try to solve what happened in march. when the baby is born, make sure you are listed as the father on the birth certificate.

Get yourself a lawyer...you don't need to pay her until the baby is born. You will have to request a dna test. You have plenty of rights if you are the father. You have plenty of legal rights if you are the biological father. She can not take the child away from you once its proven that you are the father

Of course you have rights to your child. You should see a lawyer to discuss exactly what to do. You will probably have to take a DNA test after the baby is born, and so long as that proves it is your child you have all kinds of rights.

Why are you paying her when the baby isn't even here yet? You are going to have to go to family court and get rights to see your child. At that point, the judge will also determine your child support amount and how often you get to see your baby. You have every right to visitation.

If you are in the UK, then you must sign a Parental Rights form. If you don't, then you will have no rights what so ever. My advise is to contact the British Law Society, or citizens advice bureau and they will be able to tell you the name of a solicitor within your area that specialises in family law.

You can find a lawyer, and when the baby is born - they can do a manditory DNA test... giving you rights as a father.
