they think the yankees are out like always because everyone thinks the red sox are going to win the east but at the end they mess up their lead on the east and the yankees win

The Yankees are a team that people either love or hate.
They are one of, if not, the most storied sports franchise in history with 26 World Championships and have been contenders for the World Series every year since the mid '90s. Steinbrenner isn't afraid to shell out a higher payroll to improve his team, and the fan base is truly unbelievable.
Others just dislike them for the convenience. Red Sox and Mets fans have their rivalries. Others feel that they have the unfair advantage of having a roughly $200 million salary.
People can talk all they want to, but at the end of the day, the Yankees will still be contending for #27, and that's what most other fans are afraid of.

Yankee fan here!
As a fan I wouldn't say that they are the BEST team in baseball this year. Anything can happen in baseball at a days notice.
The Yankees have their fair share of problems. I think that people are fast to count them out just because the team is so hyped up all the time.
When the Yankees sign the Big names they are expected to do Big things. These Big things don't necessarily happen all the time, as you can see with recent years.
Non-fans love to throw this stuff in our face. The truth is that as a fan of any team you shouldn't count your team out until fall comes around and non-Yankee fans usually can't wait to count the Yankees out.

People never count the Yankees. I am a Red Sox fan and I hate the Yankees as much as I hate anything except George W. Bush, but I would never count the Yankees out. It is fun to bash on them and make fun when they are down and have players hurt, but every Red Sox fan knows the Yankees are always hot on the trail in the AL East. Again though, anyone who counts the Yankees out would be making the same mistaje the Yankees did when they counted the Red Sox out when we were down 3-0 in the 2004 ALCS.

the yankees are not even in the top five best teams in baseball. They are having a terrible start and despite being within a game of first, they will not win the division and miss the playoffs again.
The St. Louis Cardinals are a real baseball team that does not need to over pay and over spend for players to buy championships. They earn them. Cubs Suck.

People count us out because they love to hate us. We are the JR Ewing of Major League Baseball. Either you love us, or hate us.
But the one thing about our fans is that our fans are for life. We are not like many other teams who have the bandwagon jumper fans who decided to become fans of a particular team because of recent success. That's not to say that these teams don't have their fair share of life-long fans (Cubs, White Sox, and Red Sox), but I'd be willing to say that up to 50% of their fans are band-wagon jumpers, and won't last for many more years.

I dont know whay your smokin, but theyre definitely not the best team in baseball. Theyd be lucky if they were ranked in the top five.
