The best heartburn medicine is fresh fruit. It will take a little longer than medicine to alleviate the symptoms but is effective, nutritious, healthful, and without side effects. A long term cure is to swallow about a teaspoon of lemon juice each morning. In six months to a year, you won't have any gastric distress to speak of and will be able to discard taking the lemon juice. It's more effective in bringing about a cure as well as being much cheaper than medicine.

Laws for prescription drugs in Mexico are much less restrictive than in the US. There are many drugs you can purchase without prescription, like antibiotics, cold and sinus medicines and possibly acid reducers.

Other more serious drugs DO require a prescription and you will need to see a doctor there to get one. Unfortunately there are doctors nearby who will prescribe anything for anyone, so dealers and addicts use their "services" frequently.

I have been to Penasco (please don't call it Rocky Point...that's so 'surburban Phoenix') several times and there are many pharmacies that cater to American tourists. I think also there is one in the border town. All border towns have them, it's a big business.

Now, the warning!!! You can get into serious trouble by bringing back drugs into the US if you don't have a script and if they are not in a prescription bottle made out to you! Look at the Customs website to see what laws apply.

They have good prescription deals in Canada. Some states have business where they order them for you from Canada, and make sure that they are reputable.
