Need more info... like are you hitting the button, or does a message pop up telling you that you have 60 seconds before it restarts... or does it just restart with no warning?

If you get the warning it's virus... but if you update windows it will fix it.

go to command prompt and type shutdown -a to keep it from happening if it's windows restarting... if that doesn't help you probably have some hardware failures

Possible reasons...
1. Virus are present on your system (Common)
Solution: Scan your computer if you have an Anti-Virus installed, if not then google AVG and download it, it's free.
To download AVG, click on the link below http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/AVG-Free-Edition.shtml

2. Hardware is damage
Solution: Turn off your PC, then remove most of your peripherals that you don't need. And then turn your PC back on

3. Hardware is not plugged in correctly
Solution: If you added a device, make sure that it is in right and it is secured.

4. Wrong Drivers are installed for a device
Solution: Uninstall current drivers and then install the correct drivers.

5. Your OS may be corrupted
Solution: Use your OS bootable CD to boot from and repair your current OS.

It may be blue screening, by default XP will reboot instead of showing the blue screen. To fix this so you can diagnose the problem, right click my computer, select properties, select the advanced tab of the system properties window and uncheck automatically reboot.

It may be a hardware problem, it may be a driver issue, etc. You can google the error code once you get it to get a better idea of what's going on.

It probably due to some error. Follow these steps and it will stop restarting, however, you will end up getting a blue screen error in it's place. But that error message will help determine what is wrong

Click start, right click my computer, properties, advance tab, start up and recovery setting uncheck automantic restart.

Can you repost with more details. Is it restarting during the boot up before ever getting to Windows. Is it restarted after the Windows logo, but before the desktop? Is it running for a while and then suddenly restarting? All different issues. More details would be very helpful.
