As a typicaI Gemini, I don't place too much importance on 'the stars'. LOL! However as a fun an interesting thing to look into, I had a quick check online, what I found was it depends on who is the Cancerian and who is the Aquarian.

Im aquarias and my boyfriend is cancerous, we have been together for a year and half now and love each other very much!

the one thing they say is that aquarians and cancers are complete opposites and have to work hard at their relationships...which i agree with, but after a while you find common interests and dont have to work so hard...you learn to compromise!
