A girl I once knew told me about an amazing author. He's sci-fi genre and his trademark is telling how the book is going to end right at the start, but that you're still surprised and blown away by the end of the book. These books are in a series. I'm really anxious to read them, but don't know what they are. Have any of you read them? If so, who is the author and what is that name of the first book? Thanks!

The author may be Gordon Dickson. He did the Dorsai series which I am currently reading, and that mostly fits the description. The hero says what he's going to do at the beginning of the book, but nobody believes him, not even the reader, but then he does it. You should check it out.

Not sure about Dickson. I'm reading "Final Encyclopedia" right now and the beginning of the book doesn't say anything about what's going to happen at the end (altough I can probably take some educated guesses)
