Yes, I do believe that this is true. I am not of colored origin myself, but I have witnessed how many people who have different skin than my own have been treated. I will never forget one instance where I was at a department store, and I saw a " white" girl steal a bottle of perfume. She just looked around, and slipped it in her purse, never knowing that I had been observing her. Anyway, I guess the security cameras picked up on the fact that she was stealing, and the department store security came soon after that. Well, it had been a person of colored origin standing next to her looking at some of the perfumes that were on display, and I guess the security personnel had received the call on his radio, and he hadn't actually seen the person, because he automatically walks up to the " black" person, and was ready to arrest her. I had to intervene and tell him that it wasn't the " black" lady, it was the other girl. He had just assumed because the other lady was " black" that she was the one that they were talking about. I have seen several more incidents regarding discrimination against people who are not white, and I think that it is despicable!! People should be more open to other races than they are. It is really sad!

Hmmm, interesting question. It depends on what you are looking at and where you are.
Let's make sure that we are comparing apples to apples here.
I like what one gentleman said about $$$. and to Quote a friend of mine "...Though it should not be the most important thing in your life, money makes the world go 'round, and if you think otherwise you are either dumb, uneducated, or naieve"
Now, Do wealthy black people get treated the same as wealthy white people? Sure they do. Wealthy Black people get treated better than poor White people. And Wealthy white people get treated better than poor Black people.
Poor black people and poor white people get treated the same by Wealthy people, which is poorly.
NOW, the true question would be, do poor black peope get treated worse/better than poor white people? And here is my answer:
I think that both races that are poor treat each other poorly. This is however very common in poverty stricken communities. Often times the individuals lack higher education and only know what has been taught to them by their community. So poor white people treat poor white people better than there poor black counter parts. And poor black people treat poor black people better than there poor white counter parts. In my personal opinion the reason for this is the perpetual injection of the "Racism keeps me down" philosophy in the black communtiy. Whether true or not, by teaching this to their children the black community is robbing it's children (and therefore all hope for the future of the black community in the USA) of hope to succeed. The reason I say this is b/c the childern begin to believe this and do not try to do better. Stop teaching the children that they are hated and also to hate. And the disparity in treatment b/w races will decrease significantly and will eventually cause a paradigm shift

I think there was a time years ago where this would have been much more true than it is today - here in the USA that is... However, now I believe that most are treated more equally. There may be cases where they are in fact treated differently, but less and less often in my opinion. Though I do believe that a black person needs to rise to a much higher level of maturity, and poise in order to be treated more equally to a white person at a lower level of maturity and poise. And in saying this, I think that this level of discrimination can only further help the black population.

Yes they are! its called the white superiority complex... for some odd reason white people subconciously think there better than all people of color. I have lots of white friends and they brag about it all the time how they are just simply better than everyother nation and every other race- I kick their a$$ cause i can, but still doesn't change anything... thats the way white people are. But don't get worry a reveolution is on the horizon cause every nation is about to turn their backs on America- which is the breeding ground for this psychological disfunction. then its all down hill from there... keep your eyes open... Mark my wordsI give it at least another 100 years...

I don't feel that white people get treated better than black people. Us as black people just have to work a little harder toward what we are trying to achieve. Sometime blacks tend to try to take the easy way out. While though some whites have everything handed to them, others go to college and try to get some education planted in their head. I think if us black people stop trying to be rappers and dope dealers others wouldn't stereotype us or see us as being under white people

Even though I would love to admit that the words of Martin Luther Kings dream are true. They are not, I would expect that in this ady and age we could overlokk the colour of someone's skin and see the person inside. sure there maybe some evil balck people out here but think most seriall killers are middle aged white men.
I do hope that someday we can all be treated equal, even though we may speak different languages or look different.

Depends on the distribution of racial and ethnic groups in the region.
I think people, in general, have an unfortunate tendency to treat those most like themselves better than others ... and since we don't often take the time to know people very well, that comparison is often very shallow and heavily influenced by physical traits.
If you're simply talking about life in the U.S. (in general) ... then I'd say yes, whites are treated better than blacks ... or hispanics.

Old habits die hard.
I believe that white people get treated better than black people even though we all know it's not right.
Unfortunately, there are preconceived biases that exist regarding every culture and it's much easier to accept those than it is to fight then.
I give a big thumbs up to anyone to fights to overcome those biases and seeks to understand and accept other cultures, as this can be very challenging.

Yes I do. I'm black. I have seen it all. No disrespect cuz yall mite not no but anytime you think "black"people have equal opportunity you're wrong. I dont wanna preach I just wanna let this be known. Our life is pretty much set up for failure. Yes their are some who get out of that life style but most of us stay. Education is the key to every door of opportunity. without that you can't make it. Someone said something about taking the easy way out. First, off I have seen schools MY school handicap students and set them up for this failure. It comes to no surprise to me any more you would think after so many hundred years, we would have equality. But I guess not. and the whole D girl D boy kinna thang (drug dealers) No I don't agree with it But I do however understand it. I hate to hear any body black white red purple pink, etc. say the reason why we are the way we are is because we dont do this and don't do that. It's just a whole lotta folks on the outside looking in. you cant speak for what you think or what youve heard only what you no. Na see me ima make it out this BULL S*** but the folks I love and care for the most won't. not because they dont want to but because they cant you say dont eva say u can't and take it out of your vocabulary whn u from tha pjs, d projects, the "hood" wateva you may call it can't is the the only word in yo vocabulary. Let me go b4 i get all emotional in stuf !!HOOD LIFE REPRESENTA!!
