The commonly accepted definition is a man that takes pride in their appearance and strives to maintain a clean and polished look. They may do any or all of the following activities:
Go to a salon instead of a barber
Get manicure/pedicures
Get massages, facials, or other such spa services
Wear clean and "in-style" clothing
Bathe or shower regularly
Use deodorants and colognes regularly and will re-apply throughout the day as necessary
Be knowledgeable of things like fashion, entertainment, decor, wines, etc

A heterosexual that takes care in his appearance,he dresses in fashion,he gets manicures/pedicures /facials to improve his face and body.Hes open to the feminine side that all men have but are most times scared to show. for fear of being thought of as "gay" I love that ,my husband is a metro sexual and is a very masculine man .I love how great he looks .

Imagine a gay guy in every sense of the word, except he prefers sex with women. That's a metrosexual. They're generally not as effiminate as most gay men are, but they do seem to be a bit more "refined" when speaking, writing, etc.

A guy who is in touch with fashion and personal hygiene but is not classified as homosexual. An example would be a guy who knew to wear a brown belt and brown shoes with navy blue pants instead of a black belt and black shoes.
