Ok, to the person who mentioned them, neither Boadicea or King Arthur were English Kings or Queens, King Arthur even fought against the invading Anglo-Saxons, who would become the English.
Boadicea was waaay before England's time.
Alfred! The only English king ever to be called 'the great'!
Although if you want to be pedantic Althelstan was what done for the Vikings, and maybe he was greater, but nonetheless Alfred The Great has a better title.

Boudecia. Especially as portrayed in the film with Alex from E.R. Hee hee. There she was in the opening scene, crying and bemoaning the slaughtered and injured after battling the Romans and all I could think of was "Come on Alex! You're a surgeon! You can fix this!"
Great Queen.
Great King? That is Arthur of course. No other legend has such an appeal. The Round Table; the Chivalry; the search for the Holy Grail. Avalon. Whoever tells that tale and no matter how they tell it, will always have an audience.

The call of the 'Defender of religion' initially belonged to King Henry VIII. The Pope granted Henry the call after the latter wrote a pamphlet adverse to the teachings of Martin Luter (who may bypass on and set up the Lutheran Church). After England broke from Rome and wide-unfold the Church of england (lower than an similar King Henry VIII), the King retained the call of the 'Defender of religion', only now it meant the 'Defender of the Anglican faith'.

there has never been a good king or queen they all are the same: they look down on people without royal blood. they spend all our taxes and they sit on the behinds all day drinking tea and eating crumpets. If Lady Diana lived she would of been the only decent Queen this world has ever seen becuase she is the only member of the royal family that cared for everyone. But of Course she died and even her death and why she died is a conspicirary. People reckon it was set up. And i think you can guess by who. Hope that helps

There is no such thing. Such a question is totally irrelevant, irreverent and therefore unanswerable. But I shall try anyway. All kings and queens past, present and probably (unfortunately) future have been, are and always will be evil, evil fcukers who do nothing but sponge of the hardworking common people whilst sitting on their fat ar$es twiddling their thumbs and starting wars for no reason other than momentary boredom. Anyone who disagrees has no grasp of common sense and really needs to stop worshipping these false demi-gods & see them for the waste of space they truly are. Hang them all. Waaaaankers!! That wasn't a bad attempt at an answer now, was it? Perhaps I was wrong...

I would have to vote for either Elizabeth I. After much religious turmoil within her country, she finally initiated a level of religious tolerance, with a few exceptions. She brought the treasury back up from her reckless father Henry VIII and her deranged sister Mary I. She also strengthened her navy to the strongest navy in the world. She began England's war of exploration, with Sir Walter Raleigh and even had the American state Virginia named after her. After Elizabeth's rule, however, the Stuart family came to rule, which lead to much turmoil between the Catholics, the Anglicans, and the Puritans. It was not until the late 17th century with William of Orange (III) and Mary II that peace was finally reached with the Bill of Rights.

Well there has not been a king or queen of England since 1707, so most of the above are disqualified.
From 1707 to 1801 they were kings and queens of Great Britain.
From 1801 to 1921(ish) they were kings and queens of Great Britain and Ireland.
From 1921(ish) to date they were kings and queens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
