I live in Maine where it is bad high humidity and when im in bed i sweat really bad cause of the humidity and i have my ceiling fan and window fan on high but it's still hot. It takes me forever to fall asleep because ill try a few times and 5 mins later i'll wake up and get out of the covers to cool down than i repeat it a few times and finally i go to sleep. Is there an easier way to go to sleep or to not sweat as much? Oh and i only sleep under the comforter. Any ideas to keep cool in bed at night time so i can sleep and not wake up sweat? thanks!

I would say inverst in a one room small air conditioner for your room! You can buy them cheap at Walmart or you can even just rent one from a rental store and keep it only for the next couple months and then return it. Im like u are and I just cannot sleep when its hot! Like u said its too chilly without the blanket but too damn hot with it! lol Cant win for trying. I always sleep better with the air on. Ill be sitting in the house and its like COLD in here cuz of the air and its 104 degrees outside but you come in the house and u can see your breath and Im all wrappwed up in my favorite blanket! lol But I do sleep and breath alot better when its cold! Invest in a small air conditioner! Its sooooo well worth it

oh honey!

try being 7 1/2 months pregnant in south carolina!!! talk about some oppressive humidity:)

well, a few suggestions:
-get rid of the comforter and just use a light bed sheet.
-get a fan or air conditioner of some sort, like a fan to put on your dresser, a window fan or a ceiling fan...the breeze will keep you from sweating so much. an air conditioner (like a small window one) will cool you off and allow you to still use your comforter.

i know it's unusually hot up there right now. i talk to a guy from Maine at work all the time and the weather up there always comes up in conversation.
just be thankful that you aren't living in it as much as we do down here.....you may have a month of it up there. we've had hot humid weather since about april/may :)

p.s. i can't move, i'm military, so i'm stuck in the heat---literally:)

take care.

First, get rid of the comforter. Get silk or satin like sheets. If you're a guy, don't worry what people might think--hey it's hot! Maybe freeze a few water bottles and sleep with it by your head or neck. Through the night, the frozen water will melt and you can sip cool water when you get thirsty. Or put water in one of those hot water bottles. Freeze it and put it under the sheets. Don't drink it though. Disclaimer: Try not to sleep with wet sheets or clothes, you don't want to get sick. If none of this works, watch C-span, that will put even the toughest insomniac to sleep.

1) buy a REALLY strong fan and instal it.

2) put a glass of water next to your bed.

3) LAvender makes you sleep better so try that or Lunesta. lol.
