Carol`s salary from Countdown cannot be much despite being on it for over 20 years. The dresses are probably recycled form Richard Whitely`s old ties.
As for "nice figure" - the figures are in her head.

She drives me nuts.
She does actually have some pretty nice clothes....but not for her figure....or more inportantly - her age.
I think that she is a perfect example of a mid-life crisis - lost some weight, had an image change and started dressing like a twenty year old.....not a good look for anyone in her position....or with her hips (ouch)

I think she is lovely. However, it has now gone to her head and spoiled her innocent charm. She is now too big for her boots... never mind her dresses.
