As the employee, I can't say to him/her that it is annoying. To me it is so much easier to speak voice to voice, settle the matters and then ring off. What are your opinions. I DO get phone calls when I am needed in a hurry.

Email is much more convenient. Welcome to the 21st century, get with it.

I think it depends on your business.

I use email more often than the phone.

The business that I'm in is on-line, so many times clients and fellow employees are spread across multiple time zones so email can be more effective. Also, in my experience many things need to be in 'writing', so important decisions need to be confirmed by email any way so why not just ask the question by email in the first place?

In my business thats all we use E-Mails. Then we have something to back us up just incase an employee says, "Yes I authorized that or no" but then changes their mind, we have it in writing.Its a safety net.

Guity as charged. E-mail over phone whenever possbile. (Of course I am hearing impaired so I avoid phones).
