People are going to judge you for less than that man. You just gotta do what you do, if you want to bump Young Jeezy In the ride then bumb it, it doens't mean you don't have a job and you try to pimp women or something. The people who think that are stupid and cling way to closley to stero types. I rock to whatever I want Wether it be Luda, or Live, or Matchbox 20, and Maxwell I don't care what people have to say becasue more than half the time they like it to and are just too afraid to be themselves and admit it. Don't get fustrated just do what you do man.

Thugs do bad things... do you do bad things, from your description not.
Open minded people do not prejudge... however we humans to associate "stuff"....
Therefore if the olds were last abused by a person listening to hip hop.... perhaps that's the association.
However do you play your music loud? Remember that you like it but you do not have to force it on others... Just the same as if us olds pulled up in the motor with Mozart full blast you might not appreciate it... only saying you might (of course you may love it..)
Its simple show mutual respect and talk to those who judge you... before too long they will be saying "what a nice young man... "
Good luck!

Sorry but, its just stereotypical as everything else. A lot of people think that its part of the black culture. The truth being hip hop is a culture of its on of this generation. Its also a urban culture that everyone is attracted to no matter what your background. I believe the thug part stands on its own but, since most thugs are urban and like hip hop they assume a thug is also a part of the culture. Though its not.

UUmmm...just becuase you like hip-hop does not make you a thug. I think the people that are giving you that label are people who in general either dont like hip-hop or just dont understand the music. They just stereo-type it as gang banging music. But an open mind will hear that there are some amazing and brilliant songs out there...So dont worry about what people label you, its just cause they dont understand. Your not a thug your a Hip-Hop Head!!

I only listen to Hip Hop, and I am a 46 year old Registered Nurse. The remarks I get are many, most of disbelief, that someone this old could like that "stuff". I love the beat, I love turning my speakers up until I feel it go threw my chest. I too hate the molds people put us in.
You are so right.

lol. Thats just a stereotype that a lot of people use. Its usually because they figure that only thugs and gangsters listen to hip hop. I listen to rap & hip hop and i don't consider myself a thug even if i look like it. We should take all the people that judge by stereotypes of of this earth

The music you like does not stereotype you automatically, just because someone likes Sean Paul doesn't make them Jamaican. The music you like may have a small effect on attitude or personality but it should not automatically make you a 'thug' if you don't act like one, just like listening to oldies doesn't make you old.

Emersing yourself in hip hop culture does not make you a thug hun....
Society sees things this way because most don't understand that hip hop is a movement...people are afraid of what they don't understand...

That's not being a thug. Being a thug is living in my hood, really, it's as messed up as it can be, and trying to get out of it, ANY means necessary.
