tell him/her not to blame you!!! accept his/her own mistake!!! and ask him/her that if he/she looses you for blaming you, who will he/she blame?

i would just tell them it is not my mistake it is your and if they do not agree then it is just you have different in opinions.. i would not argue about it just close the subject....even if it someone real close to you....you can not make them see your view then why go on and on about it.. try to forget it and go on...

Confront them with it. You shouldn't have to "take the fall" for anything you didn't do. Don't allow them to get away with it.
If the person is really THAT close, he/she will understand.
