It means the first day you started of your last period. Some menstrual cycles are 28 days and some are 35. You'd have to go back a month or so and count the days from when you started one period to the start of the next one and that is how many days are in your cycle.

try www.mymonthlycyles.com , all you do is enter the dates of your periods and it will tell you the likely times in the month that you are fertile. Also you can buy ovulation tests to help determine if you are ovulating or not. And you can test your temperature at the same time every morning. When it goes up about a degree or two and stays that way until you get your period it means that you ovulated right before your temp went up. chart when your temp goes up each month for about 3 months to see if you ovulate at the same time in your cycles.

07-13-06 was the first day of your last period, or the one you put in the question....Generally you ovulate 14 days after you stop your cycle, but everyone is different...Some women ovulate 10 days later and sometimes you do not ovulate at all....I recommend going to see a OB/GYN before you try to get pregnant, he/she can help you..
Good Luck

The first day of your cycle is the day you started your period, so for you, the 13th.
How long is it in days? From the date your last period started to the date your next period started...

they mean the first day you start bleeding is considered the first day of your menstural cycle. and the entire cycle is how many days between the first day of bleeding, it is usually 28 days average in most women. most women ovulate midway between.
