I think it's very tough to define truth.Something which is popularly beleived also does not classify as truth as it may be wrong.
While it may be hard to define absolute truth but universal facts can be considered under this category e.g. Sun rises from east or The Moon revolves around the Earth .These things are hard to be debated but purely for the sake of argument,one may question the assumptions on which it is based.
If assumptions on which a sentence is based are hard to negate or question,that thing can be classified as Truth.
