As I am the person who was overlooking, and I presume in charge of the project, I would assume responsibility for the failure of the project.
The fact my friend was involved is irrelevant. Business is business and if Mr Trump asked me who should be sacked I would say it is me that should be sacked because I had responsibility for the project. I am no martyr and this would not be about my friendship.
As the person overseeing the project I should have known my friends strengths and weaknesses. I should have been able to offset his weakness and bring balance into the situation so the project would succeed.

lets look at this logically, you have 3 choices.
1 you can be nice to your friend and take the blame yourself
2 you can be nice to your friend and blame someone else
3 you can blame friend
only a brave man or a fool would blame himself leaving possibilities 2 and 3.
if you blamed someone else would doland know you were protecting your friend and hold it against you (or admire your loyalty?) and would the thrid party be able to successfully defend himself.
also can you afford to lose hs friendship, do you really need this guy, what can he do for you etc.
in short what would the long term consiquence be.
personally I would answer " I'm not prepared to fire anyone based on one assignment. furthermore my relationship with one of the team could be interperted as favouritism opening the door for legal action against the company and myself".

I would tell the truth as I know it, and hope for the best. Honesty should always prevail if we want this society to be an honest one. Too many times people allow themselves to be torn by what to do.....just follow the 10 commandments! Thou shalt not lie. Have a good day

I'll tell Mr. Trump that blaming one person won't help at all
it was everyone's doing that made the mistake
that way no one would be ratted out (individually)

if i'm on that show, i'd be in that competition to win it! so my best friend would be my comptition. why go on if you're gonna get emotional? we would both know what the stakes were before going in. so if my best friend needed to go, then i would have to call as it is. that is common sense. but i'm to emotional for a cut throat show like donald trumps! so i couldn't be on that show anyway!

Very difficult question to answer. If your friend is always the weak link, you rat him/her out. They are going to get fired anyway, because their weakness with always show, and you shouldn't let it drag you down.
