I thought it was repeating most of the stuff I knew already. All it did was p*ss me off more, I wasn’t scared or sad or overwhelmed by hopelessness, I was P*SSED OFF!
See my Q that I asked after seeing the movie:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhC_Kn.2YRB5tnrsI9BLmDjsy6IX?qid=20060715103818AA0USh5

Anyways,
I did like how it broke down stuff so that everyone could understand what was going on. I thought the demonstrations were both informative & disturbing.
I didn’t know about some stuff, like I didn’t know Antarctica had already lost a shelf!
I didn’t know that we’re double CO2 & double the heat more then the last hot spell, & also colder too, & to think that we could triple it, man I don’t know what idiot wouldn’t acknowledge the data & be concerned!
So yeah a few things I learned, was new for me, but most of it I felt was info I already knew about.

I liked it…

Except during many parts I felt like I was watching a documentary on Al Gore and it started to get annoying and boring. I’m not sure if it was his idea or not, I would hope that he’s not that full of his self LOL. After the middle of the movie I realized why they focused on Al Gore so much, they were trying to parallel his experiences so that people can better understand and grasp what he was trying to say. In other words they chose his LIFE experiences & realizations to be tangible examples for people.

I was also expecting to see way-- *more* Action! I saw the previews thinking I was gonna see cool destructive things & have me in awe. However, it was just like a normal documentary, not much action at all. The trailers LIED! I wanted to see more footage of cool nature stuff, like tornados & all that. Oh well. Guess “Day After Tomorrow” did that alone. Also I was disappointed to not see scientists talking, I saw this picture for the movie it had this science dude on front that looked like he was talking to Al (in front of a screen with a hurricane), & so I thought “cool we get to hear them discuss detailed stuff and in the background see moving pictures to demonstrate”. Oh I couldn’t wait, & then I was disappointed LOL. The poster on the internet LIED!

It was a good movie and good documentary though.

I'm a voracious reader, and I've been seeking out new stories and information about the impacts of climate change for a few years now. Even so, while I was aware of much of the information the film put forth, I didn't realize until I saw the film just how much trouble we're in. Up until now, I was recycling my trash, being a half-hearted vegetarian, and telling myself I was environmentally responsible. After seeing the movie, I've made some lifestyle changes, and will make more, quickly as I'm able. While I don't think anyone is saying they're 100% certain about what will happen to the planet if we don't stop polluting at this rate, I think it's plainly obvious now that it won't be good. If you haven't seen the movie, go see it. It's important.

I have seen "An Inconvenient Truth." I thought Gore did an excellent job of presenting challenging material, though I was annoyed by his periodic diversions that focused more on himself. The issue of global warming is a challenging one to fully comprehend, and he may have done more to make it accessible than anyone has been able to do. The scientific community has generally validated the film, with only minor disagreements. I do think the film, as a full-length documentary, lags in spots and I don't place it among the best documentaries ever made.
