Israel is surrounded by nations that hate it. I personally believe that the only reason Israel has not been destroyed by (insert Arab nation) is because of the support the U.S. has pledged. In fact, much of the hatred toward the U.S. is due almost solely to it's support of Israel. Arab nations that dislike each other wouldn't mind banding together to destroy Israel. The only thing stopping them is Israel's alliance with the U.S. And I feel that far too often, Israel has taken advantage of the U.S.'s pledge of alliance to do things they would never think to do if they were on their own.
Now please don't label me as a Nazi or think that I hate Jews. I don't have a problem with Jews or Israelis. I have a problem with nations dragging other nations into conflicts that have nothing to do with them. And yes, I know the United States is guilty of having done this as well..
Thoughts?

Israel gets alot of training from the U.S. military. As a former U.S. Navy sailor, I know. Israel does have the right to defend itself. But being such a small nation, albeit loaded with advanced American military technology, one would think they would exercise more caution.
They act without fear because they know that if the Arab nations were to join against them, the U.S. would come to their rescue.
It's kind of like a short, skinny guy going into a biker bar and yelling that all men who ride motorcycles are brainless morons. He wouldn't do that unless he knew he could run outside were his 40 friends with blackbelts and guns were waiting.

Israel is militarily strong because of American, British, and French military technology, American and British military training and tactics, as well as Israel's own determination.

While the U.S. has supported Israel since World War II (as Israel has befriended the United States) Israel has won each of the wars which have been pushed on to it. If the United States pulled back and offered no support, Israel would still win. If pushed to the wall it would drop its restraint and use nuclear weapons (it is an estimated 300 plus) and eliminate its enemies.

Good question. I think Israel's military is second to none in the region. If the U.S. was out of the picture, the more likely question might be "How long would it be before a major war erupted over Israel and nukes and chemical/biological weapons started flying?
It is truly a bad situation, and has been since Biblical times. The term "Armageddon" refers to the "Valley of Megiddo" which is in the mid-east. Where the blood will rise to "the horses bridal".
Amazing after thousands of years the hate just keeps bouncing back and forth and back and forth.
I think it is unresolvable, and if the U.S. did not back Israel (along with a few other countries), the entire region would explode, with anyone's guess as to who would suffer the most harm.

About a month, the first two weeks of which would be incredibly bloody and probably involve the use of several nuclear weapons. After organized Israeli resistance collapsed (mostly because they ran out of fuel and ammunition) the rest of the month would be taken up by lynch mobs slaughtering the surviving Jews on an individual basis.
Do you think the United States could stay out of something like that? Then you don't understand why the America-Israel lobby calls _itself_ "the most influential pressure group in the world".

Israel is an azz-kicker. That maybe an over simplification, but it is none the less fact. The US intervention has more often than not been to request restraint of the Israelis.
In history, The Arab nations have banded together and been bashed by Israel. Israelis may be many things, but they have one hell of a military and a will to fight.
They do not need the USA. We're not exactly going to divest ourselves of our only true ally in the region.

Israel is one of the stronger military countries in the world and doesn't look like the US has provided any military support in quite some time. Don't think these arab countries would be capable of destroying Israel anytime soon. Why do you feel that Israel does not have the right to defend themselves and eliminate the people who are trying to destroy them and their people?

Israel receive more than 20 billions $ each year from American taxpayers without their consent: 3.7B$ from the Congress Foreign Aid Program, 10B$ Free Loans Guarantee, and 6 to 10 B$ from USA Tax System Loophole as Charity money deducted from American JEWS Taxs to be sent to Israeli Settlements. Israel have the right to spy on the USA too

Firstly, America could not pull back their support on Israel as a nation. This is because Israel is controlling both political n economical power of America. That's why America supported the Jews opening their new country anyway back in 1946.
If America were to pull back which they could`t, Israel will remain as it is. Because to be frank, Israel is a much stronger country than America. They control the worlds economy n media. what makes u think that USA is the backbone of Israel n without it Israel will collapse.

Logically, because of those reasons it shouldn't last at all. But Israel fought literally by itself in the 1967 Six Day War against literally every Arab country in the Middle East and won alone. It wasn't the first time either that they were outnumbered and won, but the previous time it was against fewer countries. I believe Israel will last to the end of the world. Whether you want to believe religious reasons or not for that survival is up to you.

Israel survived quite a few wars without US support and I believe they could survive a while longer without US support.
But it surely helps to have the US on Israel's side.
Israel will survive for a long time. It has people who are willing to fight for it's very existance. It'll never go down without a fight, with or without the support of the US. Given that, it'll take a long time to destroy Israel.
I think without US support, Israel would hurt more economically and politically than it would by a nuclear bomb. The US has used its Security Counsel veto on several occations to support Israel.

Without the US, you are most likely right about the countries around Israel trying to destroy her. She would not go down alone though. Of course, we are doing the right thing backing Israel up. Right now they are fighting our war for us. Hezbollah has murdered many an American and would be happy to do so again.
