All ISPs will need personal details so they can charge you (there are no free ISPs in the UK that I know of)

Do not do as suggested in a previous answer and get a WIFI adapter and hook into an unprotected network as that can be illegal and can be taken as theft

just get a wireless adapter and try to pick up a wireless network that is not secure
then you dont need to sign up for anything no info just free internet access and no one knows anything about you

They need this info in order to continually BILL you not only for
the service...but...in case YOU choose NOT to pay them..
It is obviously a way...they can track you ...down...

try abel gratis not sure if its just dial up or broadband. discs for it generally found on computer mags
