I find the female body more aesthetically pleasing because it typically has more softer lines and curves than the average male body. This doesn't mean that I think the male body is unattractive... I just wouldn't refer to it as 'beautiful.'
As Elaine from Seinfeld wisely said:
The female body is a work of art. The male body is utilitarian. It's for gettin' around. It's like a Jeep.

Beautiful is what I consider a "loaded" word. Its meaning is closely associated with femininity. Men can be beautiful, however, it seems more acceptable to say they are handsome. I find that if you refer to a man as beautiful it is taken more as an insult or a blow to their sexuality. It's an unfortunate side effect of modern society. The male body can no longer be viewed as beautiful like it was in greco-roman times. Instead it must now be viewed as a masculine powerhouse that is in no way shape or form associated with their female counterparts.

Men are absolutely beautiful, however the word beautiful is associated with something feminine and most men would be offended by the mention of calling them "beautiful", therefore we call them handsome, and we do not use this word in association with women because it is a masculine word. Are you feeling less than beautiful today honey? Don't feel that way, we are all beautiful in our own right.

The male body IS beautiful. But typically, only women and gay men feel comfortable saying that.

The Greeks didnt' think so. The great artists didn't think so. They celebrated the male form as much or even more than the female. I think it's just social. Besides. Nowadays, people think anyone that appreciates the male body is 'gay'.

No. I think the human form is beautiful. There are many things about each individual person that is beautiful. Men, too. Although, in my experience, they don't like being called 'beautiful'--:)

On one episode of Seinfeld, Elaine put it best. "The female body is a work of art. The male body is utilitarian, it's for getting' around, like a jeep." The female is like a sports car sleek and smooth. The male body is boxier and tougher like an SUV. We still think SUV's are attractive, but we use more manly adjectives to describe its aesthetics...just like for men. The word beautiful inherently implies femininity. Most men cringe at anything that implies their feminine in any way.

And then I think to myself: "My God, wouldn't it be marvelous if I turned out to be a homosexual?" As always it depends on who you ask and who's body they are looking at. I have found many male bodies that I consider beautiful.

People say it all the time, it just isn't as socially acceptable.
I think human beings can be very beautiful. They can also be pale shadows of true beauty by trying to force themselves into some rigid stereotypical mold.
