i know that the formula is 1 over the time taken but i don't know what to express my answer as, e.g. time would be seconds, lenght meters. i would appreciate immediate help as i am doing my coursework i need to know this for. could it be sec and then -1 in small ?

it should be express in the format amount/time....
for example, if you are looking at the breakdown of starch using amylase, and there was 20 mg broken down in 20 seconds, your answer would be 1 mg/sec.

express your answer in whatever units you used in the equation. if you used seconds for time, then the units should be seconds.

1 second = 1000 milliseconds = etc ... = it doesn't matter as long as you are correct

If this is a chemical reaction then you could have the number of moles of product produced per second.
