Fan. It was my first adult fantasy I ever read. It opened up the genre for me, and I'd love it for that alone. But it's also a great story, with compelling characters and fabulous details. I know a lot of people think it's slow and hard to read, and I understand that. But for me, it's an almost perfect read.
To cingular: GK Chesterton, one of the great Christian writers of the Twentieth Century, wrote, "Fantasy is like looking at the world through a slanted mirror. It gives you a new perspective to regard the ordinary world" He meant you can read fantasy and find in new ways to appreciate the world we live in. Some people may use fantasy to escape the world, but that doesn't make fantasy bad.

For some reason, I never read the book until after I'd seen the movies, even though I've always been a reader. But I bought the 'trilogy' as one big book a few years ago and read the entire thing during the six weeks of my maternity leave...so yeah, I loved it!!

Some people use stuff like that to escape reality because they cant face there reality because they don't have The courage an the strength to do it !
The Great Lord Jesus Christ is Courage an the Strength .
(too name only two awsome things that he is !)
The easy way is almost always the worst way so id recommend to face your trials an tribulations have faith an just do it an come out triumphant !
Because if you start running away from stuff like a coward its hard too stop .
If you don't have the courage of the strength to do it , ask The All mighty an he will give you it
"who gives to all liberally and without reproach"
But you have to ask with faith

yes. They were my first novels at age 10. I love the books. I like the older looking copies for the artwork and I have read them more than 20 times.
