I don't think killing or jailing terrorists will end terrorism. Their replacements are countless. If I put one terrorist in prison, 100 will will replace him. Violence will further enhance vengeance.....and increase the population of terrorists. Look what the war against terror has done.....the numbers have only increased.

Violence won't end terrorism. Do you agree?

The least we can do is...instead of killing them in those gutless encounters or imprisoning them, we can send them to mental institution.

So the 9/11 terrorists, the 7/7 terrorists, the Madrid train bombers and Indian train bombers are just misunderstood eh? A handful of terrorists were responsible for thousands of deaths. How in the world can you oppose such people being shot to stop it. I just cannot see your logic! Do you value human life so cheaply?

How prey would you go about getting a terrorist armed with bombs, guns and knives to quietly allow himself to be taken to such a place?

The numbers of terrorists have hardly increased, they are just concentrating in a very few places.

Violence towards terrorists don't work? What about the IRA and protestant groups in Northern Ireland, Pagad in Africa, ETA in Spain and many many more terrorist groups that have given up Terror?

When a suicide bomber gets on a bus with you and is preparing to blow up the bomb will you still think the same?

Remember terrorists kill hundreds if not thousands of innocent men, women and children every week!

There are many terrorist out there who actively seek to cause maximum harm to the West particularly America and Britain. If you do not kill them first then there will no doubt be mass slaughter on a vast scale in both countries when they take over.

Thankfully the UN and the G8 recognise the need to deal with terrorists and with Israels right to defend itself.

Violence will not end terrorism, it is true. However, it can serve as a deterrant. It also prevents some attacks by killing the perpetrators before they can breed, and before they can strike again.

The sad fact is that Muslims are the cause of 90% of the world's problems.

They kill or attempt to enslave anyone that does not follow their worship of the pig eating pedophile muhamud.

so you suggest we just sit back and let them do what they want? i think our president has done a great job and has made the decisions that were necessary in order to protect our country. and i don't know about you but i haven't noticed an increase in violence in the US and compared to what life was like in the Middle East before we stepped in i feel there has been an improvement. so to answer your question i think what we are doing right now is really the only solution to terrorism

Why do you think that anyone not in line with your own thinking is a terrorist?
It is just as possible to believe that we are the terrorists, looking at the view from the other side?

I believe it would be beneficial to remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the sooner we realize others have the same rights to believe as they choose, (as we do) than we may be able to separate from violence and concentrate on joint beliefs.
Before we condemn, we must self evaluate our own morals and ideas.

same thing for killing. Only when you kill one terrorist, 1000 will replace him because all you've done is created a martyr.

maybe being the catalyst for real progress in the middle east would help? maybe by not abandoning Israel, but not siding with them 100% of the time, no matter what they do, would help change the typical middle-eastern view of the US? maybe by proving that the US is a "beacon of freedom", not by imperialism but by cooperation and friendship.

I tried to explain that fact and I was accused and insulted by many other answerers. All I want to tell you is that this is clear to us all - I mean the entire world population - except Americans. Unfortunately, only US could enforce fair solutions in the middle east with diplomatic means (which is the only solution), but has chosen war instead.

Yes what are we to do? Stand by and say hey terrorists, stop it now, that's not very nice, killing our people, blowing up our innocent children and loved ones, and damaging our buildings! Yes that sounds like the best idea in the world. No, if someone hurts me or my family or even my country, I want those Godless SOB's to pay. Big time.

In the past, people have been deported and I know it's not pretty but if we have more violence in this country caused by terrorism, I think it's the best choice.

I hope it doesn't ever come to that. I love my neighbors.

Violence won't end terrorism but since they will not stop,it basically boils down to survival. Exterminate with extreme prejudice.
