are you always the counselor? the scapegoat? the snitch? the peacemaker? the asskisser? the pleaser?

why do we always fall into the same role wherever we go? is it because we're comfortable filling that position, or because we know nothing else? are we destined to play that part over and over again, or is it possible to change? how?

captain america only knows one way to use his shield, and c3po is a protocol droid, but that's about it. can they grow?

I don't think that I am, and not to be braggardly, but I believe that is a result of growth. When I was 18, for example, I was the crazy, funny guy that entertained everyone. When I was 20-21 I spent a lot of time being a counselor. Around 23, I'd say I spent a lot of time being a pleaser. I feel like now that I'm a little bit of all of them, but with a stronger self image, and a clearer idea of what I want to do and how I want to do it. I hope in another 5 years I have made further strides, and in another 5 years after that, I have made even more. Life, I believe, should be a growing and learning process, taking new experiences and events and incorporating them into our view of the world. Otherwise, to me, experience becomes only that, having experienced that one thing, rather than being a way for us to attain further wisdom and understanding.

I played the roles before for way too many years. Kept falling into that trap because it was a habit and expected of me. Finally got tired of being someone that I wasn't. Tired of being totally unhappy. I just stopped doing all of these roles that others had picked out for me. So, it can be changed. Pick your own course. That which you really want to do. About the Capt. He could maybe learn some new moves. C3PO - maybe if he got an upgrade.

Yes, that is true we all have a role in life. It is sort of like our gift that we need to use. I am always the person who makes you laugh. Find your gift and use it.

If you read Great Expectations by Charles dickens it has alot of motifs and about how people get caught up in little things. Doubles happen alot in life also. Its all the way you behave and your attitude toward any matter. The subject may change but you will always have the same role in which you act.

We are born under a sign. Our personalities are with us wherever we go. Our choices are always there to change or not to change. I used to wonder if I moved to a new locale, would I be different? I was the same. Moving wasn't the answer. I would continue to listen to my "still, small voice" about how I responded to each situation. I am what I am, what I am.
