He's against stem cell research on religious grounds. If God is against it, then stem cell research will never work, and if God is not against it, then George Bush is just wasting time getting into a field of study that could be the future for all mankind. I don't know if God is against it or not, but I think George Bush should let God decide.

It would be par for the neocon course if this was his first veto. He'll probably even attach a signing statement saying that science can use them at some point in the future if he contracts a disease that stem cells could treat.

I think that he should veto it. There are other ways to getting stem cells suitable for research...like adult stem cells.
Also, I don't need any grief about people with Parkinson's and other diseases that may or may not be cured by stem cell research because my Uncle has Parkinson's and I want him to get better. But at what cost?

To JimTO, Bungiebabe, and stupid.liberals:
If it's against God, are you assuming that Christopher Reeves is currently in Hell? What do you think Stephen Hawking thinks about stem cell research? Eiji "Hayabusa" Ezaki? What about Brooke Ellison or Teddy Pendergrass? And since there is more than paralysis that can possibly be healed by stem cells, what about cancer victims? And I guess the familes of those who support it are damned too, huh? I hope none of you ever break your necks, lest you spend the rest of your lives part machine.

In all actuality, he may not veto this bill. I mean, everyone supports it, and him being not to smart, influence is probably his smartest chance at a bill.
Bush for some reason thinks he is lead by God. Bush is the least Godly man I know, but he thinks this. I think my worst fear is that there is someone worse...

I doubt he will. He does not veto. There are some other presidents who never did veto.

It's great! Killing unborn children to harvest stem cells is so barbarian. Adult stem cells work just as well. Christopher Reeve was a monster...
