I have a small window unit AC. When I use it, there is so much condensation that is leaking inside my house. How do I fix this? There is a huge puddle on the floor.

My air conditioners have always leaked too. I think they're suposed to. You need to make sure that when it is in your window it is tilted just slightly towards the outside. This way it leaks outwards instead of in your house or in your window sill.

You might need to put a small wooden blo or something below the unit as it sits in your window. This will make the front higher than the back.

I hope this helps... I'm not an expert... this is just based on my trial and error with the same problem.

This happened to me last summer. I thought the unit was broken but when I checked it out it was almost level but tilting forward into the house the tiniest bit. So the water ran downhill and drained into the house. I moved it around in the window until the back end tilted down a little and the water drained out the back and out the window instead of onto my floor. Even now, with all this humidity, the back of the unit looks like a waterfall but inside my house it is cool and dry. Hope this helps.

Most air conditioner units has a pan and a pipe to direct water from condensation to outside. My guess is, it is either disconnected, missing, or clogged. If you are handy, you can find it, and fix the problem. Be sure it is turned off and UNPLUGGED first.

You have the Unit tilted the wrong way, it must lean towards outside-and slope lower in in the back- the water should be thrown against the hot motor, which evaborates its, so no drip anywhere. And it helps cool the motor.
