Do guppies jump?

YES, it rarely happens bout I lost a male Russian blue that I drove three hours to get form a breeder so either do not fill your tank up all the way of keep a lid on it. Fish will do strange things when stressed.

I'm not sure guppies jump, but most fish seem
to have the abilities to jump out of the water. I once had goldfish who seemed to delight in jumping out of the tank and onto the floor so that I could scoop them up and toss them back into the tank. Which, by the way, was always kept clean. If you have ever stood by a lake or fishpond for any length of time, you will see fish jumping out of the water. So I would assume that guppies CAN jump and that keeping a lid on your fishtank will prevent any suicides.

I've never seen guppies jump, although I've had lots of other fish that seem to like doing it. If yours jump, perhaps they could be trained to jump through little teensy hoops or something and you could put on miniature shows, like dolphins. Train them to jump up and take the flake food from your mouth. Or maybe they could swim backwards in formation while making funny squeaky noises :-)

You realize, of course, that after you are asleep, your fish get together and swim in fascinating and complicated formations that would amaze you if they allowed you to see. However, being aliens, they must keep a low profile and not give themselves away until the mothership arrives and they can reveal themselves to humanity. Meanwhile, they just swim around and eat their own poo and stuff.

Oh Yes!!!!! they do I had a lot of fish jump out of my tank, and it is not a pleasant sight coming from work finding your fish laying all stiff and motionless on the carpet, all fish have the ability to jump, so please keep a lid on the tank at all times, ensuring that if your fish try to commit hari-kiri that they land back in the water
